Goodbye, 2021

2021 was a rough year, I’m so happy to see the end of it. I’m enormously grateful to have still had great projects to keep very busy on, and even more so, grateful for the wonderful people I get to work with. Here’s some highlights from this crazy year:

  • Arranged the ‘Four Suits and a Soprano’ national tour featuring the NZ String Quartet + other musos, MD’d by Josh Clark

  • Co-produced a 2-day orchestral session for Carnegie Hall’s Link Up program with the APO

  • Prepped the sheet music for half of the Alien Weaponry / NZSO heavy metal collaboration

  • Typeset music by 5 NZ composers including a treasured viola concerto by Anthony Ritchie

  • Rearranged 5 Rhian Sheehan tracks for the NZTrio / Ballet Collective Aotearoa ‘Subtle Dances’ collaboration

  • Created 7 new arrangements for the APO, 4 for the NZSO and revised an old classic for the CSO - as well as typesetting a couple of tracks for their Tiki Tane collaboration

  • Arranged and produced music for a new tv ad featuring the Arcus Quartet

  • 4 amazing APOPS collaborations, including a special new school song for East Tamaki Primary

  • Adjudicated 4 composition competitions

  • Enjoyed the APO premiere of my new orchestral work, Tīkapa Moana

  • And of course, 7 sold out SYNTHONY shows (pictured) with my arrangements in New Plymouth, Wellington, Christchurch, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Sydney, and have written a new soon-to-be-premiered show with Dick Johnson

Thanks to everyone who has been involved in my 2021. May 2022 be a better year for everyone. Happy New Year!
